“When I put my first print in a frame I found at a thrift store, that is when I realized that a framed photograph on a wall is how it should be seen, not on a website or cell phone”.
After dabbling in art sporadically throughout my life, I finally started to take my desire to create seriously. I always had a love for creating but never fully pursued it until recently.
I started writing and recording music with a friend a few years back and I found that I loved to be creative for the enjoyment of myself and others. I got into digital photography around that time as an occasional hobby but it wasn’t until I started shooting film again that it became a passion. While living in Europe, I was introduced to vintage film cameras and I really enjoyed the challenge and the outcome of using those cameras.
I began to get bored with taking static images and wanted something more. I started expirimenting with film photogrpahy and that lead me down the path to where I am today. I now do my photography mostly on large fromat film and very rarely do I shoot other formats. I create photographic pieces of art using exploratory techniques. I am coming up with more ideas every day, some work and some do not, but the journey will continue. I love what I do and could not imageine photography being done any other way.
I occasionally mix other media in with my photographs like water color, scultpure, photo oils, etc. I hope to do more of this in the future along with the other forms of art that I will be eventually presenting here.
I hope that you will enjoy my art as much as I enjoy making it.
